I'm so over insomnia....

You know you have insomnia when:
  • You're jealous of the woman in the ambien commercials and would give anything just to be her.
  • You actually consider purchasing Space Bags in every size, shape and color.
  • Commercials become entertainment.
  • Jimmy Fallon becomes the early show.
  • You consider finding a friend in France so you can talk in the middle of the night.
  • You no longer need night vision goggles to make your way throughout the house while it's pitch black.
  • You get more done between 12 am and 6 am then you do all day.
  • Blogging takes place only when it's dark.
  • Online shopping takes on a whole new meaning...and so does your credit card.

Any additions for any of your fellow insomniacs?

Tee aka The Diva's Thoughts :

Oh my goodness!! I am so with you!!!! I have serious bouts of insomnia and I can't seem to shake it. I just want a few good nights sleep during the week...just a few nights would help. *sigh*

Britt :

Oh man. Gotta love (and hate!) some late night infomercials!! I wish I had advice, but (don't hit me) I sleep quite well - only when I exercise though..If I don't then I can't fall asleep to save my life.

I hope you get some much needed rest soon!

You know you have insomnia when:

your going to sleep when the sun is coming up!!

I used to be that bad.. but I guess since I'm on a 9 to 5 work schedule these days I don't have too many of those nights anymore.

KennethSF :

I may have a cure for insomnia. Whenever I have to read press releases from database companies and data-management firms, my eyelids get heavy. :-)

PinkPiddyPaws :

A few mojitos before bed and I'm out like a light. :) Just gotta make sure I don't progress to the stronger stuff..like beer! ha..ha.ha..

Toothfairynotes :

After my graduation and now I'm working full time as a dentist, I seem not to suffer from insomnia that much anymore! I used have it so badly! I think stress plays a big role!

angel, jr. :

Every now and then I find I can't sleep. It's one of the reason I signed up for Netflix...they've got a lot of on-line/instant view movies (and some of the old television sit-coms on-line too).

Mike S :

I've ALWAYS been a practicing insomniac. Now I'm closer to ancient I seem to have reverted to a 'baby-like' schedule of 2-4 naps 0f 1-3 hours each per day on 'restful' days. These days I've long ago learned to just go with whatever the inner clock(or lack of) demands. Some old saying about teaching an 'Old Injun Fellah' new tricks???

dmarks :

Is it the ambien commercial that has that creepy moth?

I don't even know what Jimmy Fallon looks like.

Anna :

I tend to get it when I'm at university, purely because the hard partying / late nights spent on essays usually result in very odd sleeping patterns. Usually though, I find a mug of hot cocoa and pushing my face into my pillow helps to knock me out! Actually, I probably shouldn't recommend that last bit cos it sounds a bit dangerous.

Jeni :

me toooo... I finally had a really good session of sleep last night and felt like a new person, but I just can't bring myself to get to bed earlier!

p.s. found your blog on www.blogsbywomen.org, the pink layout drew me like a magnet!

Milbrath :

If insomnia is wreaking havoc in your life and in spite of your consistent efforts you are unable to sleep at night, you should soon approach a doctor. After a thorough examination, your physician may prescribe sleep inducing medicines such as ambien or sonata. However these medicines should never be taken without a proper prescription from a doctor as they tend to yield side-effects which at times can be serious.

Lucy @ bigjobsboard.com :

I totally agree with you. I also experience it every single night. And its getting worst, so I decided to consult a doctor. The doctor gives me a sleeping pills that will help me in sleeping. I was happy that it was working for me. But then after few weeks I am back in the scenario that can't sleep during nights. OMG! What will I do? It's already affecting my work. My husband advice me to play games online so that I'll get sleepy but then he was wrong. Because the time that I am playing online games, I get more excited in leveling up my game. So I end up playing the whole night. we might get back to the doctor again.

acaligurl :

yikes!! i hope you get some sleep princess!!

Setup Router Guide :

I too am so ridiculously over insomnia. I have tried sleep aids, cough medicine, and even some "herbal" methods, but nothing seems to work. Even when I try to ignore all the thoughts in my head, I STILL cannot do it :(

There is NOTHING worse than laying in bed waiting for sleep. Hang in there!

Curly Que :

I suffer from insomnia too and found that watching something on TV that I have seen before (so that I am not TOO interested) will lull me to sleep eventually.

Lately, I have been using my iPhone which has been working really well. I put my earphones in, turn the volume down to the lowest setting, start a movie, and rarely make it through the first half hour.

meredith :

i feel ya on the insomnia!

you have a super cute blog, and now i'm your newest follower! :)

zolpidem :

I have seen photos on a Japanese web site of an excellent double hellebore refered to as 'Insomnia'. Due to the origin of the site I was unable to locate the source of this hellebore. Does anyone have this plant and would like to sell/trade/exchange seed from Insomnia or other hellebores that originate from this plant?
It is the middle of summer, not a brilliant one as yet, here so we hellebore addicts are envious of our Northern Hemisphere cousins who are enjoying this seasons flowering.
